Hello people what’s up? – Dinner in NY

The perfect end to the perfect day 🙂

The perfect Sunday I’ve spent with Kim couldn’t end if I didn’t get to meet her family. They were very sweet and kind to leave PA to see me at night. I had the chance to meet in person, these wonderful people I’d only had contact by webcam on MSN: her dad, her mom and one of her brothers, unfortunately her other bro couldn’t come.

O local fica pertinho do Hotel, se eu me recordo bem.

They took me to a restaurant to have dinner (it was the only day I ate a great salmon with potatoes and salad instead of junk food). The place is very close to the hotel I stayed, if I remember well.

By the way, I absolutely recommend this restaurant! It’s called Tad’s Steak – the food isn’t expensive considering NY (I remember the dishes cost no more than 15 to 17 dollars, maybe less), they have shrimp, salmon, steak, and other stuff. The dishes came with different kinds of potatoes, bread and salad. It’s worth for sure, mainly if you can’t stand eating junk food for too long.

What a memorable night that was! We laughed a lot, talked, took pictures, they made me feel very welcome and comfortable. They opened their arms to me and I couldn’t be more thankful for the day I’ve spent with them, which was without a doubt more than special.

After dinner we took a walk around Times Square, where I had the opportunity to listen a bit about that city’s history from Kim’s dad. As we walked by, he told me about the buildings, the streets and how all of that was years ago. It was amazing to spend that night with them and still bring home a very special souvenir.

The streets are full of all kinds of artists: painters, sculptors and designers.  A cartoonist drew Ell, Kim and I. Elliot bought this art and gave it to me as a gift. The man was really talented. I brought this art back home with care and now it’s hung on the room where I give classes. It’s one unique souvenir which reminds me of this trip every day while I work.

Unfortunately the night was gonna eventually end. They were so sweet and took me back to my hotel to make sure I would get there in safety. The goodbye consisted of tight hugs and memories I’ll cherish forever.

I wanna thank Kim, her family and friends for making me feel so welcome in the city. I had the best time and meeting all of you was amazing!! Thank you so much 🙂

That’s it for this post – Next post: Last day in NY

See ya when I see ya!!
